Completely rebuilt in 2009 with a National Lottery Grant our new hall is a modern attractive community building suitable for hire by a range of different groups. We have a large main hall that feels cosy with smaller groups of people such as our art classes or bridge group. It is spacious enough though to accommodate between 60 to 120 people if necessary.
As a new build the hall is fully compliant with all modern building regulations allowing easy level access from the adjacent car park.
A fully fitted kitchen is available to all users of the hall including a cooker, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, teapots, cutlery and crockery. A larger wall mounted water boiler is available to groups who need to provide tea and coffee for larger numbers.
A convenient serving hatch links the kitchen with the main hall.
Two modern toilets are available one of which is accessible to wheelchair users with a wall mounted baby changing table as well.
A smaller area between the main hall and the kitchen can be used to extend the size of the main hall or closed off to provide a smaller separate meeting space.
Underfloor heating throughout the hall ensures a constant pleasant temperature so the hall is comfortable to use as soon as you enter.
Easy access windows can be opened to allow our more physically active fitness groups to cool down quickly when they need to.
Modern lighting can be adjusted to provide bright lighting for art groups through to more subtle wall lighting for evening events or parties. Three ceiling velux windows provide a high level of natural light but can also be closed with blinds to allow slide displays. A large roll away wall mounted projector white screen is available for slide displays at the south end of the hall.
A high quality sound PA system has been fitted along with a hearing loop. Four well placed speakers with easy connections allows all users to take along a simple device such as an i pod to then play any of their own music through the speaker system..
60 high quality fabric chairs are stored in the hall along with 12 large tables. Usually about a dozen chairs are left out in the main hall for the regular groups to use. Our regular users are also able to store some equipment at the hall.
Parking and Access:
A small car park adjacent to the hall can accommodate up to a dozen cars. Extra cars can park on the main road through the village. We do like to keep clear access into Barkers Meadow for our neighbours at all times.
