Eaglesfield Village Hall Management Committee are delighted to announce, that following our recent AGM, we have been able to give the go ahead for a phased reopening of the Village Hall, from the 10th of August. We have spent a lot of time preparing for reopening and used the Government’s guidance for community buildings to ensure that the Hall is as COVID-19 safe as possible.
To achieve this we have carried out a Village Hall COVID 19 Risk Assessment and produced an additional terms and conditions agreement for hirers to sign up to. Both these documents can be viewed by following the links.
We all have a part to play in minimising the risk of infection to Hall users and our local community. We would therefore ask you that if you are visiting the Hall you follow the advice of the person organising the activity or event you are attending and follow the guidance clearly posted throughout the building. Remember to maintain social distancing and clean your hands regularly.
Help us keep COVID Secure Poster
From 8th August, it is mandatory that all Hall users must wear a face mask when in the Hall, unless they are exempt or participating in an organised exercise class. We have undertaken a “deep clean” of the Hall and provided hand sanitising gels by entrance and exit doors as well as additional cleaning materials within the hall. We have also doubled the number of times that the Hall Cleaner is cleaning the Hall each week.
We have now contacted a number of our local regular users to invite them back to the Hall and we are thrilled that Sarah Kekus held her first yoga class in the Hall last week. We will liaise with each group wanting to use the Hall to ensure that we take things carefully and safely and minimise COVID-19 infection risks.
When you do get chance to revisit the Hall you will see some changes. During the Hall closure we have done some redecorating and also had a new audio-visual system installed. This includes a digital projector and bigger screen as well as a Blu-ray player and Freeview box. We hope we will therefore be able to restart film nights and have illustrated lectures etc, before too long.
In 2 weeks we are having acoustic panels fitted to the ceiling of the main hall. This is to reduce the problems with echo and reverberations, which often occurs within the hall when groups of people are talking or music is being played. It should improve the sound quality within the hall for everyone.
That’s all for now. We hope that as life gradually gets back to normal the Hall can open its doors to all our usual users and we can act as the hub of the Village once again.
