Dear Neighbours
Easter is nearly upon us and it looks like any decision to relax the present “stay at home” and social distancing restrictions is going to be postponed for some time to come. We will therefore need to keep supporting our neighbours and make sure we have a safety net in place for anyone who suddenly finds they need help.
I thought I would update you to news and information.
Whilst maintaining social distancing, we wanted to try and provide a little light relief for our community.
On Easter Sunday, Paul Johnson has organised an event for children and their families. Families are invited to set off around the village and to see how many teddies they can spot in the windows of people’s houses. Once they have spotted as many as they can, they will make their way back to the village green to collect a chocolate Easter Egg, kindly donated by Sainsburys in Cockermouth, with help from Craig MacWilliam of Barkers Meadow.
A few tips and pointers.
For those amongst us who may require help with shopping, Tim Grisdale has provided all the latest information here.
The Area Support Team are co-ordinating help, support and resources within Allerdale during this pandemic. They work with Statutory and Voluntary bodies and have produced a Directory of Services for Allerdale and an updated Allerdale Newsletter Issue 3. The latter has details of ways to access help and support and other information including: childcare for key workers, grants and financial support, accessing food banks, counselling services, information about fraud prevention and much more.
If you need any help or support then please contact one of the following four volunteer coordinators:
Thats all for now.
Happy Easter and don’t forget to put your teddies in your front windows!
